The Imagination Island Festival exists to ignite creativity, confidence, and connection in young children and their families through immersive, play-based arts experiences. Rooted in accessibility, joy, and self-expression, we bring together professional teaching artists, live performance, and interactive storytelling to create a space where every child feels seen, celebrated, and inspired to move, imagine, and create both in-person and beyond.

Live Performances

Step into the forest through music, movement, puppetry, and playful storytelling created especially for our littlest audience members.

Themed Play Areas

Explore gentle, sensory-friendly spaces designed for imagination, movement, discovery, and child-led play.

Creative Arts & Crafts Stations

Make something magical with hands-on forest-inspired activities that invite children to create, explore, and take home a piece of the adventure.

Meet & Greet

Connect with our artists, special guests, and local community partners who help bring Imagination Island to life.

Vendors

Honeybee Face Painting will be joining us to offer face painting for our little forest friends. Ms. Veronica will also lead a 15 to 20 minute hula hoop exploration, where children can try playful tricks, move their bodies, and explore rhythm, coordination, and confidence through play.

TLND SALON & SPA will be offering Glitterlites services for littles who want to add a little sparkle to their day. This is a sweet way for children to bring a little extra shine into their forest adventure.

Part of Your World Princess Co. will bring the magic with a princess boutique and a special visit from Princess Tiana from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM. Families will have a chance to meet her during our mid-day transition and enjoy a moment of fairytale wonder right in the middle of the forest.

Hazelnut Helper’s Art Cart will offer hand-picked forest-themed art magnets for children and families. Each registered family will receive one magnet included with admission. Additional magnets will be available directly from Hazelnut Helper’s Art Cart for $15 per magnet for families who would like to create or take home more.

Birdie’s Bookmobile will join us with a cozy reading nook, bringing beautiful books and literacy joy to Imagination Island. Each attendee will get to take home one book of their choice from this wonderful Detroit-based nonprofit, which is dedicated to increasing children’s access to quality, diverse, and culturally relevant books.

From 11:45 AM to 1:45 PM, North End Ice Cream will join us with a sweet treat for families. Each registered family will receive one ice cream treat included with admission. Additional treats may be purchased directly from North End Ice Cream for families who would like more.

A pre-boxed snack will be available from Nosh & Pôr, whose work brings beauty, care, and intention to gatherings through thoughtfully prepared food. This offering helps make the day feel welcoming, nourishing, and easy for families as they enjoy the full Imagination Island experience.
